1. Do preparation before class
2. Goals—what do you want the students to take away from the class
3. Keep summarizing
4. Keep asking questions of yourself and the class
5. Make sure you have painted the larger picture so that the details have a background within which to fit.
6. Ask and answer the question “so what?”
